Burgers with Cheese, Tomato & Avocado

Ingredients

  • 1 pound extra-lean ground beef

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 medium onion (finely chopped)

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper *

  • 1 clove garlic (finely chopped) *

  • Small tomatoes, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds

  • Avocado, sliced

  • Cheddar cheese slices

  • Cooking spray *

  • 12 whole-wheat buns

Directions

  • In a large bowl mix ground meat, egg, onion, black pepper and garlic.

  • Form 4 patties and set on a plate.

  • Coat a heavy skillet with cooking spray and heat to medium heat. Add the sliders and cook 2-3 minutes per side.

  • When burgers are ready, remove from heat and serve on a bun with desired toppings such as cheese, tomato, and avocado.
